SONIA PEAK EXPEDITION

A super Trek on the Northern edge of Karakoram, the dramatically beautiful territory of Shimshal Valley is home to the finest trekking in the Karakoram, laying between the Karakoram highway, the Chinese border, and the Northern margin of the Karakoram Range. This is a remote area including 9 Peaks above 7000 meters, Shimshal Valley is Situated at 3200m from sea level, Shimshal is one of the oldest settlements of Wakhi People is the Hunza region, There are some of 240 households and almost 1900 of Papulation, The village was inaccessible by Jeep road until October 2003, When a new road  from Karakoram highway at Passu was constructed, The Construction of non-metallicJeep able road has been started is 1986 and completed in October 2003. Shimshal Chapchingal Pass Trek and Climb Sonia Peak 6400m is a Similar mini Expedition and strenuous Trekking over Chapchingal Pass to Karakoram highway at Kuksil.

Sonia Peak was first Ascent made by a German Team in 1994, the Peaks name and the Climbing route was then first introduced in the first edition of the German Trekking Guide,  PAKISTAN-LAND-GESCHICHTE_KULTUR” in 1996. Sonia referring to an Expedition member’s wife. Sonia Peak is a beautiful snow peak, ideal for those who looking for small peaks to Climb.

Day 10 WIERBEN-CHAPCHINGAL VALLEY(3700m)

Day 11        CHAPCHINGAL BASE CAMP (4100m)

Day 12–13  SONIA PEAK CLIMBING (6400m)

Day 14        CHAPCHINGAL BASE CAMP

Day 15        CROSSING CHAPCHINGAL PASS (5100m)

Day 16        KUKSEL VALLEY-GULMIT (2400m)

Day 17        GULMIT-KARIMABAD (2500m)

Day 18        KARIMABAD (2500m)

Day 19       KARIMABAD-GILGIT(1700m)

Day 20 FLY  ISLAMABAD-BESHAM
