Broad Peak – An Iconic 8000er in Pakistan’s Karakoram Range

Broad Peak, standing proudly at 8,051 meters (26,414 feet), is the 12th highest mountain in the world. How to Get There

Access Route:

01- Islamabad to Skardu – Via flight or Karakoram Highway (2–3 days by road or 1 hour flight)

02- Skardu to Askole – Jeep journey through mountain valleys

03- Askole to Concordia – 5–6 day trek through Baltoro Glacier

04- Broad Peak Base Camp – Trek from Concordia (approx. 2 hours)

The approach passes through one of the most beautiful trekking routes on Earth, offering views of Trango Towers, Masherbrum, Cathedral Peaks, and eventually K2, Gasherbrum I & II, and Broad Peak itself.

Climbing Route & High Camps

Broad Peak is typically climbed via the normal route on the west ridge. While technically less demanding than K2, the climb involves high risks including crevasses, rockfall, and unpredictable weather.

Camps Layout:

. Camp I (~5,800 m) – Snowfields and glacial terrain
