🏔️ Kunyang Chhish Expedition – The Ice Giant of Hispar Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan

Kunyang Chhish (7,852 meters / 25,761 feet) is one of the highest and most formidable peaks in the Karakoram Range, standing tall in the remote and wild Hispar Valley of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. Ranked as the 21st highest mountain in the world, Kunyang Chhish remains a rarely climbed and fiercely challenging peak, ideal for elite mountaineers seeking technical difficulty, raw adventure, and majestic alpine beauty.

📍 Location & Significance

Located in the Hispar Muztagh subrange of the Karakoram, Kunyang Chhish is surrounded by icefalls, massive glaciers, and ridges carved by time and storms. With steep walls, knife-edge ridges, and complex glaciers, it has earned a reputation as one of the most difficult and dangerous 7000m+ peaks in the world.

Unlike the commercial routes of other high mountains, Kunyang Chhish offers pure wilderness mountaineering, untouched by mass tourism.

📅 Best Time to Climb

The ideal window for climbing Kunyang Chhish is mid-June to August, when the Karakoram weather is relatively stable and snow conditions are optimal for glacier and ridge travel.
